urban formation machines

Urban Formation Machines:Modeling Urban Complexity as Frameworks for Design, ‘ufm’, explores the use of parametric modeling to produce an active diagramming tool for understanding and generating urban formation and site design.  Funded the Imre Halasz Foundation for Urban Design Researchufm project constructed diagrammatic digital models of multiple urban characteristics and influences, associated and synthesized into malleable, spatial frameworks.  As variable dialogues between multiple urban influences, the following composite drawings represent five different models: Part Field, Grid Transmissions, Pathways + Occupations, Scalar Composite, Synthetic Vernacular, and Amplified Environments.
